TRoll Hunt at The Morton Arboretum

Back in 2019 as summer was ending and school was getting ready to take full swing, I took the kids and met up with a cousin and her daughter to go on a Troll Hunt.

We had already been fascinated with the Bernheim Giants created by Thomas Dambo and when we found out he had created the Troll Hunt up by Chicago, it was a MUST!

With the Troll Hunt concluding on January 21,2021, I found it fitting to blog about them.

Before you got on your way, you were handed a Troll Hunt Booklet to help guide you to each Troll. They designed it in a way to get you moving outside in nature. As they were spaced throughout Morton Arboretum you walked through their trails not only anticipating the next Troll you also were able to see what all grew there and what residents they had living there also. When reaching a troll a sign was presented to tell you a little about the Troll and you were given hints to help guide you to the final destination of the Hunt. There were six trolls total but the end destination once you had gathered all the codes lead you to the troll hideout! This trip did not disappoint us in the least. We had so many laughs and enjoyed getting to see these works of art!

Each Troll was made out of broken pallets! It is truly amazing what this artist can do with salvaged material!

Until next time,

Mom on the go
