Alter, make different, make alterations to, adjust, improve, redesign, restyle, remodel… Change is what I have stated to do to our home.
I remember growing up and being told no to colored walls! Since I became an adult I have never wanted white walls…. well, I kind of made a alteration to that decision as I wanted a different look and feel in our home. I is still a work in progress but I accomplished what I set out to do for that weekend and that there is a start!!
My entry way was a fun green that made me smile when I walked through the door. It took me many years to get to the point of wanting a change. The change was brought on because I was drawn more to county farm house look and the simplicity that it gave.
For the new colors I went with a polar bear white for the walls and a dark walnut for the trim. The two worked so well together.

I had a lot of holes to fill in before I could paint. (Now I know why my Mom and Dad never let me put nails in the walls while under their roof!!) While I was allowing the filler to dry, I started my multitasking by removing the trim and base boards, Cutting, staining and varnishing the new trim.
For the new trim I chose pine, as I want that farmhouse architect feel and the stain that I used Gave it that preferable dark rich tone that I was looking for. Side note * If i ever decide to change it up again I can paint the trim white!

I am loving the end results!

More to come at the Whoopsie Daisy!
Until next time,
